Subj:  My recent order

Thanks to you and your website, I’m actually designing and making lace again, after not doing so for at least 10 years. I started making a Belgian tape lace motif (enlarged because of my not-too-good eyesight). I left on vacation to Puerto Vallarta for two weeks to see my compadres and my godson and his family. I took one of the lace pillows from you guys with me with the Belgian lace on it. I finished the motif in Vallarta and decided to make a design anew. I got some graph paper and charted out a relatively simple Russian tape design, set it up, made a pricking and am now (unfortunately, after having to return from vacation to go back to work) three-quarters of the way done with it (it will be a crocheted square (I like to mix the techniques) about five inches across with the tape lace in points about six inches deep on each side).

 Like I said, I can’t believe I’m actually making lace again, thanks to you.

Attached are a few pictures of the costume I added the gold braid to...
hopefully they come through okay. My 15-year old brother Dustin and his
friend James decided that they wanted to be characters from "The Scarlet
Pimpernel" for Halloween this year, and I spent the past month making them
costumes. James (on the left in James-Dustin.jpg) was "Percy" and Dustin
was "Chauvelin." I attached the gold braid to James' lapels to help stiffen
the front of the frock coat and add a little pizzazz. You have my permission
to use either of the two close-up shots if you'd like to post them anywhere,
along with my email address.
